Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Moonlit Teahouse, including its Saju readings, conversations, saved books, public keepsakes, and paid digital volumes.

1. Agreement and eligibility

By accessing or using Moonlit Teahouse (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these terms. You may use the Service only where doing so is lawful.

2. What Moonlit Teahouse is

Moonlit Teahouse offers a character-led experience inspired by Korean Saju and related symbolic traditions. Readings, conversations, and other outputs are provided for entertainment and personal reflection.

The Service does not provide medical, mental health, legal, financial, employment, or other professional advice. It does not guarantee outcomes, reveal another person’s thoughts, or predict specific events. Do not use it as the sole basis for an important decision.

If you may be in danger or need urgent support, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional. The Service is not a crisis service.

3. Accounts and access

You may use parts of the Service without an account. If you sign in, you are responsible for the security of your email account and sign-in method, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission.

Provide information you have the right to provide. You are responsible for checking that your birth details and other inputs are accurate before relying on a reading.

4. Purchases and refunds

Some digital books or features may require a one-time purchase. The exact price and currency are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms and privacy practices; we do not receive your full card number.

Digital content may become available as soon as payment is confirmed. Except where the law requires otherwise, refund requests are considered based on the circumstances of the purchase and use of the content. Contact support@sizhu.ai with the purchase email and enough information to locate the transaction. A full refund, reversal, or payment dispute may remove access to the related content.

Taxes, bank charges, and currency conversion fees may apply depending on your location and payment provider.

5. Your content and public keepsakes

You retain any rights you have in questions, notes, corrections, titles, and quotes you submit. You give us a limited, worldwide license to host, copy, process, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to comply with law.

When you deliberately create a public keepsake, the title and quote you approve become available to anyone with the link. Do not publish personal information you do not want others to see. You can remove a public keepsake link from your account, although copies made by other people may remain outside our control.

You represent that your content does not violate another person’s rights or applicable law.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service. In particular, you may not:

  • break the law, infringe rights, impersonate another person, or submit content you are not allowed to share;
  • harass, exploit, threaten, or harm another person;
  • interfere with security or operation, distribute malware, overwhelm the Service, or attempt unauthorized access;
  • scrape, copy, resell, or systematically extract the Service or its content, except as the law expressly allows; or
  • bypass payment, access controls, usage limits, or other safeguards.

7. Our content and license to you

The Service, including its characters, artwork, writing, software, design, and branding, belongs to Moonlit Teahouse or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

While you follow these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and to keep or share the personal exports the Service makes available to you. This license does not permit commercial reuse of our characters, artwork, readings, or software.

8. Availability and disclaimers

The Service may include automated or AI-assisted outputs. Those outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Use your own judgment and verify information that matters.

Third-party services such as Stripe, Supabase, Fireworks AI, and location providers operate under their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moonlit Teahouse and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

10. Suspension and ending use

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties; respond to legal requirements; address nonpayment; or enforce these terms. Where practical, we will give notice.

Sections that by their nature should continue after your use ends—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and terms concerning your public content—will remain in effect.

11. Changes to the Service or terms

We may change the Service and these terms as the experience develops. We will post the updated date on this page and provide additional notice when a change is material and the law requires it. Continuing to use the Service after revised terms take effect means you accept them.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the Service.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms, purchases, or the Service may be sent to support@sizhu.ai.
